For far too long, societal norms have perpetuated the destructive myth that men must be tolerant, unemotional, and tough. The phrase “boys don’t cry” has become a damaging mantra, conditioning men to suppress their feelings and hide their vulnerabilities. This toxic masculinity often leads men to believe that expressing vulnerability is a sign of weakness. As a result, many men struggle to acknowledge, understand, and process their emotions. This stereotype has devastating consequences, affecting not only men but also those around them.
